I'd like to remind us of something first stated in a business novel I wrote many years ago. "Santa, CEO" told the story of a multinational toymaking empire, presided over by a figure and once familiar yet ancient. Santa had lost both his wife and his way, immersed in the complexities of modern commerce and intrigue. When the dust finally settled, he stated what we may too often forget: that in his business -- in any business, and particularly in our shared lives:
