Why Do Artists Create?

A while back, the National Academies hosted a session to address the question, “Why Do Artists Create?”

While the distinguished guests — both accomplished artists — providing much insight, other voices might have something to say as well.

This is an attempt to provide insight into what drives ordinary, unsung artists to persist in their work.
